2012 MPLC Events Calendar

February 24th: Guided Marsh View Trail Walk

Time TBD

Our monthly guided trail hike will move to Friday in February. Join Kris Shaw and discover the exciting features found in this serene natural environment. The walk will last approximately 45 minutes. Reservations are not required, but more information can be found by calling the MPLC at 843-224-1849 or send an email to John Girault.

Anyone interested in participating should meet at the trail head located off of Fred McKay Way between the Mount Pleasant Waterworks Operations Center and the Joe Gawrych Baseball Complex at 1619 Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant.


February 26th: Race & Roast at Oakland Plantation

12:30 to 4 pm

The Race & Roast at Oakland Plantation is a 5K trail run and oyster roast benefiting the Mount Pleasant Land Conservancy (MPLC). The public can participate in just one or both events. It all takes place at the same beautiful location on one of the conservancy's protected properties.

EcoSpiel gatherings bring together like-minded community members interested in organizing their thoughts and efforts when it comes to protecting our local environment and ensuring future generations will be able to enjoy the same quality of life each of us experiences today. Attendees can hear from local individuals, groups, and businesses focused on a sustainable future for this region.


April 29th: Butterfly Fling at the Marsh View Trail

3 to 5 pm

Come celebrate the planting of our new butterfly garden and the paperback release of local author Mary Alice Monroe's The Butterfly's Daughter. Enjoy live music while you help plant the garden and learn about how to attract butterflies to your own yard. Food and beverages available for purchase, including the King of Pops. A book signing will also take place. Free and open to the public. More details to follow.


November 4th: Paddle 'n Party on Shem Creek
